About the Creator

My name is Ty Jones. I’m a photographer, storyteller, and the founder of Bigger Than Me Media and Echoes of Ty.

My creative journey started in television post-production. I spent years working behind the scenes on projects for HBO, Netflix, National Geographic, BET, and more. From the outside, it looked like I was building a solid career, but internally I was still searching for my own voice and my own truth.

I found it through photography.

The camera became more than a tool. It became a lifeline. Through the lens, I learned how to slow down, how to see, and how to be present. Photography gave me a way to document not just what’s in front of me, but who I am. My city, my people, my history, and my healing. Every image I share carries something real. Resilience. Honesty. Beauty that exists even in the middle of struggle.

A year ago, I was lost in addiction and fighting to survive. Sobriety gave me my breath back. It gave me clarity and the ability to truly see the world again. I would spend hours walking with my camera wherever I was, taking photos. It was the only time I felt fully at peace, like God was speaking to me through the lens. Photography quite literally saved my life.

Echoes of Ty was born from that transformation. It is not just about images. It is about connection. It is about seeing yourself reflected in the work, feeling the weight of a story, and carrying a piece of it with you. These photographs are fragments of my journey back to myself and an invitation for others to honor their own.

Bigger Than Me Media is my commitment to creating with purpose. It is about telling stories that matter and making space for voices that are too often overlooked. Especially for people who do not always see themselves represented, I want my work to say clearly that your story has value and your life matters.

This is the most personal work I have ever done. It is rooted in honesty, growth, faith, and the belief that art can heal and bring people together.

If you walk away from my work with anything, I hope it is this. Your life is bigger than the pain, bigger than the doubt, and bigger than the limits placed on you. Just like mine is.
